Shanghai

Both sides of my family come from here and it is a place that has played a multitude of roles in my life over the years, particularly in shaping my cultural identity. I grew up coming almost every other year and even lived here for my formative middle school years. I then revisited at the end of high school with my Canadian orchestra group. This visit marks 9 years since I last returned to Shanghai (Asia in general), now fully an adult, this visit was quite meaningful to me.

A very fulfilling and heartwarming visit to see friends, it was hard not to fantasize a life for myself here. I felt very immersed in this world, already eager for my next time back. I also challenged myself with only a film camera, to varying results

A childhood friend of mine had his wedding in Haryana and it quickly inspired a larger trip to visit more of the region. It was unlike any other place I've been before and it feels important to see how a large portion of our globe lives. Wonderful spot as far as photography goes as well

Los Angeles

A city that really feels like several cities that have slowly consumed each other. Love the variety that it has but don't love how car dependent it is to get around.
