"City of the Future". I was oddly reminded a lot of my middle school years living in Shanghai while in Dubai. Very globalized and with sprawling skyscrapers, it felt like another world. I was also "lucky" to be here during a rain induced flood.

Shanghai

Both sides of my family come from here and it is a place that has played a multitude of roles in my life over the years, particularly in shaping my cultural identity. I grew up coming almost every other year and even lived here for my formative middle school years. I then revisited at the end of high school with my Canadian orchestra group. This visit marks 9 years since I last returned to Shanghai (Asia in general), now fully an adult, this visit was quite meaningful to me.
